Meet Frankie
The things I once struggled with most have changed my life & become the very things I’m passionate about helping others understand.
Young & teenage me did everything and anything to avoid exercise. The gym petrified me and I would get breathless walking up the stairs.
My motivation for exercise started at 19 and was simple: I wanted to look better. This led to years of yo-yo dieting and an approach to exercise that was more about how I looked than how I felt which left me stiff and in discomfort.
I relied on my inhaler, carried it everywhere and would panic if I didn't have it. I was also a chronic mouth breather, with no idea that I could be breathing dysfunctionally.
.
After university, I spent my days sitting at a desk, feeling stiff and uncomfortable. Exercise became my escape, but I approached it intensely, believing every workout had to leave me exhausted. Despite training regularly, I did very little mobility work and often felt too tired to enjoy it.
At 27, I left office life for a job at a private members’ gym. This inspired me to book my first yoga teacher training, where I discovered breathwork. I found box breathing surprisingly uncomfortable and was amazed by how little time I could hold my breath during Wim Hof breathing. I had no idea there was so much to learn about something I did thousands of times a day.
I moved from Yoga to a personal trainer. I noticed many clients struggled with stiffness and restricted movement despite years of exercise. Recognising my own experience in them, I studied mobility and began incorporating it into my sessions. As my movement improved, discomfort I’d accepted as normal began to disappear. I saw similar progress in my clients.
My curiosity about breathing continued, leading me to explore everything from Holotropic Sessions, Oxygen Advantage and the Buteyko Method. I became particularly interested in everyday breathing habits, including nasal breathing, breathing volume and tolerance to air hunger.
Learning to understand my own breathing has changed far more than I ever expected, helping me feel more comfortable in my body, clearer in my mind and more connected to myself.
Learning to understand my body changed the way I train, move and feel every day. I discovered that strength isn't just about how much weight you can lift or how hard you can push yourself; it's also about how freely you can move, how well your body functions and what you're capable of doing without discomfort holding you back.
I've experienced that transformation myself and watched my clients move with greater freedom, build strength and achieve things they once thought were out of reach. I want to help you do the same: build a stronger, more capable body that doesn't just perform well in a workout, but feels good to live in.
